Eagles Are Soaring into Global Learning!

New World Language & Cultures Resource Class Coming to Bethel Manor Elementary 

Beginning Fall 2025, Bethel Manor Elementary School is excited to launch a World Language & Cultures Resource class for all K–5 students!

This exciting initiative is funded through the 2024 Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) World Language Advancement and Readiness Program (WLARP) Grant, titled “World Wonders.” 

DoDEA supports more than 1.1 million military-connected students across the country, and its grant programs empower public schools to provide enriching, research-based opportunities that enhance learning and promote student achievement. The “World Wonders” grant equips our school with the tools and training to offer this meaningful new experience to our Eagles. 

A Global Learning Experience for Every Eagle 

Our Eagles are about to take flight into a world of discovery by learning languages, customs, and traditions from cultures around the globe. Through engaging, hands-on lessons, students will: 

  • Learn greetings and vocabulary in different world languages 
  • Explore global traditions, celebrations, and daily life 
  • Strengthen communication and comprehension skills 
  • Build cultural awareness and appreciation 

This engaging program is designed to spark curiosity, expand worldviews, and connect students with the richness of our global community.

What to Expect

As part of this grant-funded opportunity, Bethel Manor students and staff will benefit from: 

  • A dedicated World Language & Cultures Resource class during the school day 
  • Immersive and interactive global learning experiences 
  • Professional development for teachers to ensure high-quality instruction 
  • Future enrichment opportunities for families and students outside of school hours 

This program supports our commitment to academic excellence and honors the cultural richness of our military-connected community. 

Launching Fall 2025

The World Language & Cultures class will begin in the 2025–26 school year. Stay tuned for more details including sample activities, enrichment options, and ways for families to get involved.
